CT scanning can be useful for diagnosing a wide range of conditions. We accept direct enquiries as well as referrals.
Examples
Archie
A 16-year-old Yorkie with a persistent cough. Archie was a very
poor anaesthetic risk and imaging was easily performed
conscious at no risk providing a clear diagnosis using fluoroscopy.

Freddie
Freddie presented following a car accident with a split mandibular symphysis. These injuries are common, usually easy to repair but often come with other skull fractures. The images below show the split symphysis together with multiple fractures including a fractured zygomatic arch in close proximity to the TMJ (jaw joint). This additional fracture was fortunately stable and required just the split repairing together with a soft diet.

Kevin
Kevin also had a road accident and had a symphysis split and a very unstable jaw. On examination a dislocation/fracture could not be determined. CT clearly shows an intact TMJ but a shattered vertical ramus. In this case the jaw was stabilised by bonding the upper and lower canines allowing a gap just large enough to lap liquid food for 6 weeks to allow the fracture to heal.

Pico
Pico is a young urinary incontinent collie. A dual phase contrast study was performed to highlight her urinary tract. Both ureters can be clearly followed from the kidneys to the correct insertion points on the bladder plus a retrograde vestibulo-vaginagram demonstrated no fistulas between the bladder and vagina.

Bert
Bert is a 3 year old spaniel with elbow pain. CT scans of both elbows demonstrate clear intercondylar fissures. This is a common condition in this breed and required bilateral hif screws.

Blossom
Blossom is a 9 year old toy poodle with a ruptured cruciate and grade 2 medial luxating patella (knee cap). CT demonstrated a normal depth throchlea and significantinternal rotation of her tibia. Surgery involved 2 principle techniques-and anti rotational lateral suture together with a TPLO (CCWO). No trochleaplasty was required.

Roxy
Roxy is a 4 year old chihuahua with a grade 4 medial luxating patella. CT demonstrates an almost non existent trochlea (groove) together with a very misshaped patella and marked rotation of the tibia. On this image the left knee is normal. This is challenging especially due to the patient size and the severe abnormalities. It involved a complex surgery.
